Colorful living room with rattan furniture.

Vivid colors run my life. 🩷

Hope everyone is well. I thought I’d write a little something so you know I’m human. 😊

Let’s talk about color.

You’ll see that vibrant gemstones and rainbow themes are at the heart of so much of my work, and there’s a simple reason for that: JOY.

I surround myself with color. It flows through my home, my work, and my heart.

I live in a small home in the Roland Park area of Baltimore City. My house is still a little rough around the edges, even after all the work that’s been done- a new kitchen, new wiring, a new staircase, walls taken down, and plenty more. It is truly a little money pit, but it’s my little money pit, and I love it.

Here’s a photo of my living room. Things get moved around often, and over the years I’ve painted the interior several times in several different colors. Some choices were more successful than others. 😄 Eventually, I found my way back to white walls, with one exception: the kitchen, which is a deep apple green. I admire those green walls every single day.

I’d post more photos, but it appears I can only add one per post.

I’ve also collected paintings over the years. My first was a gift from a boyfriend when I was around 24. I was absolutely crazy about the work of this particular artist, who had a studio in the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, Virginia, where I once lived.  He went in and purchased it. I was over the moon, still am.

Years later, on a trip to Kauai, I traded a piece of my jewelry for a magnificent underwater watercolor. Since then, I’ve purchased paintings at shows and discovered artists on Etsy whose work I’ve fallen in love with. I admire those paintings every day, too.

My inspiration doesn’t really come from one particular place. It comes from everything I observe. The colors, shapes, textures, contrasts, art, nature, interiors, and little details that catch my eye.

I suppose I’ve always been this way.

Color makes me happy. And that joy inevitable finds its way into my jewelry.
