She is the noble fashionista- bold, elegant, and rooted in history.
This design has a story. I first created it in the 1980s and sold these striking earrings at Eastern Market in Washington, D.C. The last photo shows a single original earring from 1984- one I recently rediscovered, which inspired me to revisit and reimagine the design with today’s expanded world of gemstones.
This modern pair is hand formed using 14k gold filled wire. 20 gauge for the abstract face and design and 18 gauge for the elongated, graceful stems. Embellished with a radiant selection of gemstones and finished with gold vermeil beads and coils.
Gemstones:
Sapphires in orange, gold, and red, Red spinel, Peach spessartite, Rhodolite garnet, Lemon quartz (featured as her earring)
Length: 4 1/8”
Displayed on a life sized mannequin head for scale.
A design decades in the making, now reborn. Timeless, expressive, and fashion forward.
